Southwestern Law Review to Host Two National Webinars on Immigration, Resistance, and the Law

The Southwestern Law Review will host two national webinars this spring examining how law responds to political upheaval, shifting power, and demands for justice. Held on February 21 and March 27, the events are part of the Law Review’s paper symposia and bring together leading scholars, practitioners, advocates, and jurists from across the country.

Presented in conjunction with the Immigration Amid the Upheaval paper symposium, this webinar examines the consequences of a rapidly shifting immigration landscape through brief presentations by contributing scholars and practitioners. Discussion will focus on how recent and anticipated legal developments are shaping immigration policy, advocacy, and client experiences.

The webinar will feature short presentations followed by moderated questions posed by the Southwestern Law Review.

The Resistance! Now webinar explores the evolution of resistance movements from 2016 to the present, asking what resistance looks like in the current moment. Contributors from academia, advocacy, and the judiciary will assess the movement’s successes, limitations, and future strategies in response to shifting legal and political realities.

Panelists will offer brief presentations followed by moderated discussion examining resistance as a legal, institutional, and grassroots practice.
