Faculty in the Media

Southwestern faculty regularly contribute their expertise on a wide range of cutting edge legal issues for print, broadcast and online news sources. Among our professors featured recently were:

> Professor Beth Caldwell, who explains how community-based interventions are far more effective than incarceration for youths, in her Op-Ed article, “Probation Camp Alternatives Work Better for Teens,” that was recently published in the Juvenile Justice Exchange;

> Professor Ryan Abbott, who was quoted extensively in “Patent Law at the AI Crossroads” in Law.com, regarding the intriguing new intellectual property law issues related to the rapid rise of artificial intelligence, a topic he addressed in his Boston College Law Review article and during a recent presentation at the Keck Graduate School of Applied Life Science; and

> Professor Rachel VanLandingham, an expert in military law, whose blog entries on cyber deterrence and the armed conflict principle of distinction were published in conjunction with the American Society of International Law Annual Conference.
