Southwestern Law School to Honor Prominent Alumni and Friends
On Thursday, March 9, the Southwestern Alumni Association will honor distinguished members of the Southwestern Law School community at the 28th Annual Alumni Awards Gala. This year’s reception will be held at the California Science Center’s Samuel Oschin Pavilion featuring Endeavour and recognize seven individuals, as well as a law firm, for making a difference at Southwestern and within the legal community
This year’s honorees include:
George ’75 & Katrina ’02 Woolverton, Stockwell, Harris, Woolverton & Helphrey as “Alumni of the Year”
Hon. Socrates P. Manoukian ‘77, Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, as “Outstanding Judicial Officer”
Sharon Petrosino ‘84, Orange County Public Defender “Outstanding Government/Public Interest Lawyer”
Julie Xanders, Executive Vice President, General Counsel, tronc, Inc., as “Outstanding Friend”
Robert Morgenstern ‘80, Maranga-Morgenstern, as “Outstanding Litigator”
Benjamin Tragish ‘13, Foley & Mansfield, as “Outstanding Nickel Alumnus”
Meyer, Olson, Lowy & Meyers (MOLM), as “Outstanding Law Firm”
“Our honorees are truly exceptional,” said Cindy Johnson ’00, President of the Southwestern Alumni Association. “They are leaders, innovators, and role models who reflect the very best of Southwestern. We are proud and privileged to honor them.”
Proceeds from the 28th Southwestern Law School Annual Alumni Awards Gala will support the Domestic Violence Advocacy Initiative. Created in 2016, the Initiative was established to provide Fellowships to recently licensed Southwestern alumni to work at nonprofit legal organizations that provide legal services to domestic violence victims and their families.
The Alumni Awards Gala will begin at 7 p.m. and dinner will start at 7:45 p.m. at the California Science Center, Samuel Oschin Pavilion Featuring Endeavour, 700 Exposition Park Drive, Los Angeles. Tickets are $150. Reservations are required and can be made online at swlawgala.com.
