Pantea Yashar is an Associate Professor of Legal Analysis, Writing, and Skills. She previously taught Trial Advocacy at Southwestern Law School as an Adjunct Professor.

Professor Yashar is a seasoned trial attorney with a focus on real property and projects in Southern California for large-scale commercial and residential developers and landlords. She was a Partner at Ervin Cohen & Jessup LLP where she has worked since 2009 and began her legal career as a litigation attorney at the international law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Professor Yashar also served as a Special Deputy Prosecutor for the City Attorney’s office of Hermosa Beach where she tried misdemeanor cases through verdict and lectured on trial advocacy.

Professor Yashar currently serves as the Vice President—At Large on the Executive Board of the Harvard Law School Association; this is a position she assumed following her two-year Presidency of the Association’s Los Angeles chapter. While in law school, Professor Yashar was an Editor of the Negotiation Law Review and The Harvard Law Record.

Southern California Super Lawyers has repeatedly recognized Professor Yashar, initially as a Rising Star, and from 2017-2024, as a Super Lawyer for excellence in real estate and business litigation. Professor Yashar was named as a “Woman of Influence” by the Los Angeles Business Journal both in 2022 and 2023, and as a “Minority Leader of Influence” in 2023.
