Southwestern makes every effort to provide reasonable accommodations for students with attentional, medical, psychological, learning or temporary disabilities through the Dean of Students and Diversity Affairs Office. Examples of accommodations include notetakers, special chairs, extra time on exams, private or semi-private exam rooms, use of voice-recognition software during exams, recorded exams, etc.
Those requiring accommodations for a disability should contact Disability Services in the Dean of Students and Diversity Affairs Office as early as possible to discuss requests for special accommodations. Indicating a disability on the admissions application does not serve to provide notice to Southwestern of a student's need for accommodations during law school. Students who do not seek accommodations need not make their disabilities known.
It is the policy and practice of Southwestern to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and state and local requirements regarding students and applicants with disabilities.
