Southwestern National Negotiation Tournament

October 7, 2023:
— Initial Rounds
The competition will include two initial negotiation rounds held at Southwestern Law School. The negotiation rounds will be 45 minutes, followed by a self-evaluation. The top four teams, after both rounds of negotiations, will be named the "Negotiation Finalists" and will advance to the final round.
October 8, 2023:
— The Final Round
The Negotiation Finalists will negotiate a new problem. The final round will be 45 minutes, followed by a self-evaluation.
Cancellation or Modification of Competition
The organizers are entitled to cancel or modify The Negotiation Tournament at any time due to organizational, economic, or other reasons (including, for example, a change in L.A. County COVID Guidelines, force majeure, insufficient number of registrations, etc.). If the competition is canceled by the organizer, all registration fees will be refunded. However, no other expenses (such as travel) will be paid or refunded by the organizers. If a team cancels their registration prior to September 1, 2023, the organizers will refund the team's registration fee minus 3% for administration costs. Cancellation should be emailed to CKnolton@swlaw.edu. If a team cancels their registration after September 1, 2023, no refund of the registration fee will be provided.
Who May Compete?
The competition is open to all J.D. students.
Travel to Los Angeles, California
All teams are responsible for their own travel arrangements and expenses. The travel expenses are not included in the registration fee. In order to compete, competitors must comply with Southwestern's COVID policies in effect at the relevant times. The tournament will follow all COVID guidelines set forth by Los Angeles County and Southwestern Law School. Teams must be present to compete. The dates and times of the competition are also subject to change.
Conflict of Interest
Southwestern will not be entering the competition (other than a ghost team if needed).
