Reference Librarian – Fully Remote

Southwestern Law School is seeking an experienced academic law librarian for a fully remote position. We are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking, experienced law librarian to join our Los Angeles team remotely! Reference librarians are the engine that drives Southwestern Law School’s Leigh H. Taylor Law Library forward. We are looking to hire someone to:

  • Take lead in developing our online research instruction, including creating synchronous and asynchronous lesson plans and course content and teaching legal research classes remotely.
  • Provide virtual research assistance to students, faculty, alumni, and staff.
  • Create asynchronous digital learning opportunities, including LibGuides and online tutorials.
  • Collaborate with community members on various projects and committees, in the library and across campus.
  • Engage with the legal research community via membership in professional organizations.

Our library leadership works with our reference librarians to provide growth and professional development opportunities targeted to each librarian’s interests. We want all our team members to feel supported and valued for their contributions to our library, school, and the profession.
