3/16/20 - Message from the Deans - You Got This

Body

Dear Students,

As you return from spring break, Dean Prager and I wanted to reach out to share some thoughts about the extraordinary situation we are all facing with the coronavirus pandemic.

To begin with, we want you to know how much we appreciate your strength, flexibility, and understanding in this difficult time.  Law school is hard even in the best of circumstances.  But you are all being asked to do something extraordinary: soldier on with your legal studies during a global pandemic.  We know that this will demand courage and resiliency from you.  We know it will not be easy.  But we also know that you have what it takes to rise to this challenge and finish out the semester.  We believe in you and know you will persist and succeed despite all the adversity.

We also want you to know that the Southwestern faculty and staff are 100% committed to working with you to successfully complete the term.  We are here to support you in any way we can.  If there is something in particular that we can do to support you during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out to me (dwaisman@swlaw.edu) or the Dean of Students office (deanofstudents@swlaw.edu) and let us know.  And if you have any IT-related questions or concerns, please submit an IT ticket.

For details on the transition to remote learning, please see Dean Prager’s email from last week, which is pasted below.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Stay healthy and safe.  You got this.

All the best,

Dean Susan and Vice Dean Dov
