This course is designed to provide early preparation for the Multistate Bar Exam (MBE) and uses best practices and cognitive learning science to promote learning and greater recall of the information.
The course takes a "skills first" approach and covers all seven MBE subjects (Civil Procedure, Contracts, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence, Real Property, and Torts).
In addition to building a foundation for strong multiple choice test taking skills, this course will serve as both a refresher on some of the most heavily tested topics previously covered in doctrinal courses as well as introduce students to topics that are also tested but not traditionally taught in first-year or second-year courses.
To promote better recall of the information, several assessments opportunities have been built into the course, including a baseline exam on the first day of class. The baseline exam is a required assignment and it will count towards the course grade.
Note: There will be a make-up baseline exam, please see the syllabus for information regarding the make-up date.
