Students will learn how to promote creative, non-partisan changes to the law through the legislative process. By the end of the course, students will be well-versed in legislative terminology, process, and inner workings of both houses (Assembly and Senate). They will have gained experience in researching, analyzing, drafting, and debating proposed bills. Students will meet with local representatives and be exposed to career opportunities in the legislative field. At the Conference of California Bar Associations, students will meet with members of the judiciary and legislature and have an opportunity to network with attorneys from across the state.
