Southwestern provides a number of resources to help students prepare for their final exams including posting prior exams and registering to take finals using a computer. Please see the links below or at right for more information.

ExamSoft's SofTest Flexsite is a program that provides students with the ability to take exams on their laptop computers. It is used by many law schools across the country and several state Bars, including California and Nevada. Although ExamSoft is highly recommended, students are not required to use this option. Please note that SofTest is compatible with Windows Operating Systems and the Mac Leopard 10.5.6 and Snow Leopard 10.6 operating systems.

Southwestern encourages students to take advantage of the current computer technology and register with ExamSoft. By using this program during your time at Southwestern, you will become familiar and proficient with ExamSoft and, thereby, better prepared to take the California or other state’s bar examinations using ExamSoft. The psychometrician for the California Committee of Bar Examiners has noted that: "After controlling on MBE scores, applicants who use a laptop tend to have slightly higher essay scores than those who handwrite."

Students can find more detailed ExamSoft information, including minimum system requirements and supported operating system versions, on the MySWLAW portal (log-in required).
