Among Professor Goodman's remarkable achievements are serving as a judicial extern to the Hon. Andrew J. Wistrich in the US District Court for the Central District of California, and to the Hon. Kim M. Wardlaw in the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She also served as a research assistant to Vice Dean Catherine Carpenter of Southwestern Law School, where she performed research on the sociological and legal implications of sentencing trends for female sex offenders in California. During law school, she received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Criminal Law; Legal Analysis, Writing & Skills; Evidence; Community Property; Business Associations; and Sales. She also received the Witkin Award for Academic Excellence in Legal Analysis, Writing & Skills. 

During law school,  Professor Goodman received the full-tuition Wildman/Schumacher Scholarship. She also served as editor-in-chief of the Southwestern Journal of International Law and was an oralist in the Moot Court Honors Program, competing at the prestigious American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Before attending law school, she lived in Lyon, France, where she studied at L'Université Lumière Lyon 2 and was a writer and translator for a French magazine.
